Louisa Waters Cate
President

 

Louisa Waters Cate’s lifelong connection with Savannah, GA goes back six generations.  Her involvement with the City and charitable causes in and around Savannah goes back to her high school days.  She graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA with a BA in Psychology.  Upon returning here, she immediately became involved in the Junior League.  This philanthropic attitude has continued throughout Louisa’s life.  In her mid-twenties Louisa developed a love for real estate, particularly for rehabilitating older properties.  During her time as a stay at home mom she designed and oversaw the rehabilitation of three different properties, including the budgeting and managing of contractors.

As Louisa’s children have matured, she has moved steadily back to her interest in real estate investing and her philanthropic activities, culminating in the opening of her company Emmaus Property Investment, LLC with her husband Grant Cate in September of 2016.  A year of preparation preceded the start of business operations in September of 2017.  As president of EPI, she has overseen multiple properties being acquired and rehabbed in the Savannah market.  She has set company goals which are aggressive yet currently being exceeded.  Because of Louisa’s vision and motivation, Emmaus Property Investment, LLC gives 10% of the corporate net profits to charitable causes, including St. Jude’s Hospital for children and her church.  Louisa has been quoted as saying “There is something magical about taking a house that is dead and resurrecting it.  Our ability to breathe new life into houses and even neighborhoods, gives us a great deal of satisfaction”.

 

 

 

Grant Cate

Vice President, Operations

Grant Cate was born and raised on the outskirts of Camden, New Jersey.  Grant was a good enough athlete to excel in college sports. When his dream of playing Major League baseball was derailed by a severe shoulder injury, he was recruited by Pitney Bowes Inc.  He started as a sales rep in the Philadelphia, PA market.  Grant has a 20 plus year career with Pitney Bowes, excelling in various positions in professional and major account sales.  He developed multiple programs for Pitney Bowes during his time there and frequently worked on TDA in the corporate headquarters in Stanford, CT.  Grant managed large business units in both Reading, PA and as district sales manager of their Metro Los Angeles, CA office.

Grant expanded his management resume after leaving Pitney Bows and became market general manager for two different telecom companies in central Pennsylvania.  The teams he managed both at Pitney Bows and the telecoms routinely exceeded their assigned sales quotas.  In some cases setting sales records that have never been eclipsed to this day.  From 1999-2004 Grant was global director of sales and marketing for Magenta Research.  During that period of time, he oversaw exponential sales growth for this small Connecticut based technology company.  Sales grew during that period from 1.5 million in sales in 1998 to over 14 million just 5 years later.


Returning to Savannah in 2006 after Magenta Research was sold, Grant worked for a private philanthropic organization trying to give back what had been so freely given to him.  In the summer of 2016, Grant met and fell in love with Louisa Waters while working with that same philanthropic organization.  They formed Emmaus Property Investment, LLC in September of 2016 and were subsequently married in February of 2017.  Grant is quoted as saying, “The entire experience of creating our corporation, finding and rehabbing properties has become the highlight of my career.  Meeting and becoming a partner in business and in life with Louisa has become the highlight of my entire life”.

 

Wynn Martin

Director of Retail Real Estate Operations

Wynn Martin epitomizes honesty, integrity, commitment, passion, and fun in every detail of your real estate transaction.  Wynn grew up in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1999, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  During his time in the Army, he served as an Armor Officer, Scout Platoon Leader, Cavalry Troop Executive Officer, and the Assistant Protocol Officer for the 3rd Infantry Division.  His Years in the Army instilled in him a sense of unparalleled service to others.  He works hard to ensure he is providing the best service available for his fellow veterans and clients.  Wynn is proud to be a Certified Residential Military Specialist.

Towards the end of his time in the military, Wynn got involved in the real estate industry and has been enjoying it ever since.  With over 15 years of experience buying and selling houses, he knows how to find the perfect property for buyers and knows how to maximize value for sellers.  Wynn is passionate about the needs and goals of his clients, and he specializes in bringing peace of mind to home buyers who can easily get overwhelmed with all that goes along with purchasing a home.

Savvy negotiations and cutting-edge marketing strategies join uncompromising integrity as the hallmark of Wynn’s service.  He uses his expertise and foresight to proactively address details before they become a problem.  Wynn has high ethical standards and is known as a hard-working family man who does absolutely everything in his power to ensure his client’s success.

Wynn shares his life with his wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters.  In his free time he enjoys spending time relaxing with family and friends, boating, and playing the occasional round of golf.  He wants to make you feel as much at home in Savannah as he does.
